Barrie, Ontario is a pristine scenic city, fortified with beautiful swimmable beaches and delightfully challenging ski slopes. In fact Barrie is home to a whole host of parks and recreation areas. These lush and expansive parks make up 300 hectares (741 acres) of the undulating Barrie Landscape. Barrie is the thirty fifth largest municipalities in Canada and is nestled on the banks of the Kenpenfelt Bay of Lake Simcoe, located in the central portion of Southern Ontario, known as Central Ontario, and in the far northern outskirts of the urban conglomeration known as the Golden Horseshoe. And although it is technically located within the Simcoe County, politically it remains a separate municipality.
The cities north and south ends are bisected by a one of a kind wrapped or curved valley along the Kenpenfelt Bay. This relatively flat terrain makes up the Barrie downtown area, and is fortified with manicured parks, natural trails as well as a budding industrial and commercial area, including Barrie storage for residents and commercial use. Barrie is currently seeking to expand, and hunting out profitable business opportunities to fill out its industrial and commercial waterfront expansion projects.
As you move out of the center of the city and up into the valley, the land can become quite steep in certain portions of Barrie. Barrie is marked by short, mild yet extremely humid summers and cold, snow covered winters. The proximity to the Great Lakes moderates the temperatures somewhat. Barrie is located in the Ontario snow belt region, where lake-effect snow falls throughout the winter. Lake effect snow is caused by freezing winter winds traveling across large bodies of warmer water. The wind gains speed and picks up energy and water vapor. The water vapor in turn freezes, thus creating heavy and consuming periods of snowfall.
Due to its frequent snowfalls and large number of thunder storm and tornado activity, it becomes imperative that Barrie storage be well protected from the elements. Many Barrie storage facilities boast climate controlled units, that are going to protect items from the frigid cold temperatures and the ever maleficent moistures that causes mold.
