Relatively speaking, Pickering, Ontario is a new community. When other communities of this area were established during the fur trade and timber trade that happened roughly in the early 1800s, Pickering was not established until 1974. Named after a city in England located in North Yorkshire, Pickering was originally established as Pickering Township which was designed to be settled as a suburban area around the time after World War II. Pickering storage sounds like it would thrive on residential storage. With many residents buying and selling houses, it is natural to assume that storing household goods in Pickering storage would make a great business model.

A glowing addition to the greater Pickering community is the Pickering nuclear generating station. The plant is one of the biggest employers of Pickering and is capable of supplying nearly 4,120 Megawatts of power from its eight reactors. A facility of Pickering storage would be wise to break ground on the opposite side of town from the plant, just in case. If anything were to happen with the plant or at the plant, belongings would be safer the farther they are from a potential ground zero. But local storage facilities, as well as all businesses, take every precaution when it comes to providing a safe environment to their patrons.

Because Pickering has not existed as long as the rest of the communities in the area, it does not have the benefit of having a rich and extensive history. However, it does have other facts that are noteworthy to mention to the everyday man. Pickering was a site of filming for a famous movie about Mohicans. Also of note a famous children television entertainer resided in Pickering, Ontario. Noteworthy histories like this lend Pickering storage as a great tool for preserving history and nostalgia for generations to come.
