In Amandas old age she did not like the cold weather. She always knew when the cold was coming; she could feel it in her joints. Her knees would start to creak, and her wrists would begin to stiffen up. People thought that she was crazy for living in Toronto and not liking the cold weather. Amanda however had a plan of escape. Her sister Pilar lived in Florida and every winter Amanda would visit her sister.

She had been migrating south for the winter for the past few years and she absolutely loved it. She got to see her sister and all of her kids. They would spend days at the beach and acting like they were young girls again. It was some of the best weeks that Amanda had all year. Plus she did not have to be in the cold and snow back home.

By now she had a system in place. Her neighbors would watch her house and get her mail. Their son would check her pipes to make sure that they were not going to freeze and keep an eye on things inside. Her car would go into a Toronto Car Storage unit for the winter so it would not just be sitting in the weather.

It was the perfect solution for Amanda. After Christmas she would return to Toronto. Get her car out of the Toronto Car Storage and go check in with her neighbors. She always made them a big dinner and her famous apple pie for thanks.
