Weekends are awesome.  It has been raining most of the month.  We are suppose to have a sunny Sunday.  So hopefully I can get outside and do some yard work.  One of the things I really need to do is put some of my things into one of those mini storage building .  I have lawn chairs and a solar oven still out on my back patio.  I am confident that I will not be using either of them anymore this fall or winter.

Fall is definantly here.  Winter is nipping at our ankles.  My husband is traveling to Wisconsin and Minnasota this weekend.  I spent almost half an hour before work this morning getting into the attic and then digging through the different storage containers until I found the one with hat and gloves in it.  This was important since they are actually forcasted to have a couple inches of snow in Minnasota this weekend. 

As many of you know my husband and I own a couple businesses.  Finding space for inventory is always a real challenge.  We need to get in and out on a frequent basis.  Yet a standard storage unit will not work for us because when our inventory comes in it comes on semi trucks and it requires a truck loading dock.

We have found the perfect solution by using a mini warehouse .  It has the benefits of a large warehouse with the convenience of a small facility.

In our town the month of September was the No Car, Low Car, Whoa Car Challenge.  About 80 people pledged to find alternate transportation rather than a car or truck for the whole month.  This is the 2nd year that I have signed up and not managed to meet my pledge.  I drove just as much as I normally do. 

Next year I am going to put my car in vehicle storage then I will not have it to drive and I will be forced to find an alternate. 

I hate paper.  It is worse than rabbits it multiplies rapidly. I really need all the paper on my desk to learn how to be self organizers . If they would just file them selves and put them selves in some semblance of order that would be great. All the other things on my desk seems to stay in control.

 My son works at a local restaurant called Cherry Street Artisan he is one of the evening cooks. He makes soups for lunch the next day as well as bread, brownies and humus and some sandwiches.  He always marvels at the efficiency of how they can storage containers for all the ingredients and prepped food.

My son received his GED this week, yippee. He is going to go take classes at the community college in the next town and will be working on his associates degree in Industrial Maintenance. I am sure that he is going to be able to get a good job. He would like to work in a hospital. I am sure he could get a job in property storage since they are always working on maintenance.

The last Monday of every month I get to sing.  It is so much fun.  KOPN our community radio station has a monthly sing along.  So tonight is my night to sing.  We sing mostly folk music but we are pretty open to singing whatever we have the music and the words to.   We usually sing out of a book call Rise up Singing. 

We really need some ministorage to keep our books in between signing sessions.

It is Friday and August is beautiful out side.  My children both have plans for the weekend.  It might be the perfect time for Greg and I to do some house cleaning.  We have an upstairs that really used to be the play room.  Since our kids our 14 and 17 this space is rarely used anymore.  I really dont want to get rid of the legos and the big doll house.  So I guess it is time to put them into storage . 

My son is taking his GED exam today.  I am very proud of him.  He has signed up for the industrial maintenance program at one of the community colleges.  There should be job prospects in the maintenance field.  I believe he would really like to work in like a hospital or other professional environment.  He even talk to a guy that started out in industrial maintenence that ended up specializing in Elevator maintenance.  Did you know elevator maintenance is one of the best paid careers. 

Many self storage facilities have elevators that have to be maintaned and inspected.
