Last night our power went out. It was a freak wind that came through at 9:40 pm. It took out one of our neighbors trees. Since it only effected about eight houses. The power company seemed to take their own sweet time getting the power back up. It really caused an interupted night of sleep. Since we do not use are attic for our self storage , we have converted it into my son's bedroom. Since it was over 90 outside he attempted to sleep on the couch that was much to small for him that is in our living room. Needless to say I think I heard everytime that he wiggled.

It is Friday and August is beautiful out side. My children both have plans for the weekend. It might be the perfect time for Greg and I to do some house cleaning. We have an upstairs that really used to be the play room. Since our kids our 14 and 17 this space is rarely used anymore. I really dont want to get rid of the legos and the big doll house. So I guess it is time to put them into storage .
The last Monday of every month I get to sing. It is so much fun. KOPN our community radio station has a monthly sing along. So tonight is my night to sing. We sing mostly folk music but we are pretty open to singing whatever we have the music and the words to. We usually sing out of a book call Rise up Singing.

Have you ever heard the saying, I learned something new so I might as well go home. How did we get into the mindset that we are only capable of learning one thing a day? I have read research that we only utilize 20 percents of our brains. Think of the untapped potential that each of us has. I know that here in the self storage business there are LOTS of opportunities to learn many new things everyday.
Getting the best employees to work in a storage warehouse really takes some good screening skills. To be a great worker in the storage industry you need employees with both people skills and property management skills. As well as the ability to take initiative and do what ever work needs to be done for the health of the facility. Good luck with your next new hire.
My daughters seven and half year old guinie pig passed away last night. We knew it was coming but it was still made us all sad. We have all this small rodent items that we are now trying to decide if we should put in a storage container or if we should put them on free cycle. I really like free cycle it is a place where you can give away things or ask for items that others may just have sitting around.
Last night I went up to our community radio station for their monthly community sing along. We use the Rise Up Singing book. It is great fun. I always am amazed while I am up there how many record albums and cds they have stored and they never have enough storage rooms for all the music that is available.
