There are a lot of people out there who collect dolls. I thought dolls were a fad that went out of style years ago. However, dolls are just as popular a collectors item as they ever have been. I recently went to a storage auction, where they were auctioning off a climate controlled storage unit . The unit was stacked to the top with dolls from over the past 45 years, and there were all different types. The biggest selection was of cabbage patch dolls. Most of these dolls were still in the packages. The space went for about 200 USD, which is WAY less than the payout will be on these collectors items.
If I wanted to store vintage comics, I would make sure to go with a climate controlled space. Recently, a friend who runs a comic book exchange needed to find free space for his valuable merchandise. I suggested a storage unit. He liked the idea. But when we went down to the property to look, we realized they did not have any climate control spaces. We ended up driving around for two hours until we found a place that did. I understood why, since most of the comics he is storing is very rare.
I have a lot of furniture that I would need to store in a climate control space. I have a glass top table with a base made from solid brass. I also have a chest which is very old. Finally, I have a huge entertainment center, couch, and two chairs. These items are very expensive, so I would want them to be well protected.
