The fellow that called was interested in storing all the equipment for his painting business and planned to store all his ladders, paint buckets, brushes and rollers. I offered him a nice little five by five foot space to store everything in and I got him a great rate too.

What is a mini storage building ? Seriously, I have no idea. Is it someplace meant to only be accessed by miniature people, where they can store their miniature items and park their miniature cars? What defines mini anyhow? Most spaces Ive seen at storage facilities are well sized to store furniture and belongings from a normal sized home, so whats the story behind the term mini storage ?

Climate controlled storage is an excellent feature offered by many storage facilities. Climate controlled means that your storage space will be kept around room temperature at all times. The temperature should never drop any lower than about 60 degrees and never raise higher than 80 degrees or so. Take advantage of this feature in your storage space if you are storing leather furniture, electronics, or other temperature sensitive items.

I once saw a storage facility called Super Vault Secure Storage . How ironic. As I drove past the facility I saw the driveway to the different spaces. I could drive up to any one of the spaces with no trouble at all. Even beyond the fact that there was no access controlled gate, or fence for that matter, there was also no evidence of any video cameras or alarms on the property. There were also only two flood lights working. This is why you should not try to find and store at the absolute cheapest facility. The quality usually matches the price.

Its not easy, but its definitely rewarding after youve finally made it into your new place. When you move, be smart about it. Use sturdy boxes, stack items wisely and be sure to pack breakable items correctly and carefully. When in doubt about a packing job, add some bubble wrap, packing peanuts or paper to pad your belongings. Whats the sense in packing up your stuff and moving it if its just going to be in pieces once it gets to the destination?

This was such a good deal I could not pass it up. I figure I can just set these hours aside for awhile until I really need some extra time. My issue is that hours are really long and Im not certain I have enough space in my home to keep them all here. I think I am going to rent a storage space to keep all of my hours in until I need them. I know theyll all be safe there, so hopefully the facility will be helpful and understanding.

All you need to do is take the items you wish to store, pick them up and gently place them in a box or bag for transportation. Place said box or bag in a vehicle for transportation, or walk to the appropriate storage facility if you are close enough. Once at the facility use your PIN code to access the property and your lock key to unlock and access your individual storage space. From here all you need to do is place your belongings inside the space, shut and lock the door and exit the facility. Congratulations, youve now stored your belongings.

She initially thought she would need a 5x15 foot space to store the furnishings of her studio apartment, however the space was just out of her monthly price range. After speaking with her for a moment or two I learned her desk and a couple of her tables are easily broken down to be stored, her chairs are easily stacked on eachother and she would also be okay with proping the sofa and mattress on end to utilize the eight foot ceilings in the space. With all of this information and the fact that she did not plan on storing many boxes or other odds and ends I was just barely able to recommend a 5x10 foot space for her to store in, and it fit into her price range.

The smallest storage space available at most storage facilities is usually a 5x5 foot or occasionally a 5x4 foot space. This is NOT to say that this is the correct size for you and your belongings. More often than not, folks that want the smallest unit available are usually storing a household worth of furniture and you would be hard pressed to even fit a couple of sofas in a five foot by five foot space. If you are storing anything more than a few stray pieces of furniture and boxes it is almost a guarantee that you will need a 5x15 foot space or larger. Even a 5x15 foot space typcally only stores the contents of a one bedroom apartment without any appliances.

The most popular space to rent that I have found is a 10 foot by 10 foot storage shed. A 10 foot by 10 foot space is 100 square feet, about the size of an average bedroom. A 10x10 foot shed will typically hold the furnishings of a one bedroom apartment plus appliances and other miscellaneous items. Approximately three rooms worth of furniture will fit in a 10x10. This size is also excellent for storing away files in file boxes. A 10x10 foot unit will hold about 108 standard file boxes on shelves for easy access, or 168 file boxes without shelving or aisles.

Storage spaces are great places to store your furniture, odds and ends from around the house, a vehicle or pull behind trailer. Some things you would not be able to store are plants, animals and perishable goods. Storage facilities are simply not suited for these types of belongings on their property due to the enviromental variables and the needs required to properly care for such things. Also non working vehicles are unable to be stored, as they will usually require work to be done on the property which simply cannot be allowed. Also exercise caution in storing priceless art and jewelry. Always exercise common sense, although safe, a storage facility is not a vault, pet daycare, food pantry, greenhouse or car repair shop.

It was fairly painless. I could have gotten a covered garage style space but instead I rented an outdoor parking space for an incredibly low rate. They also happened to have a move in special they gave me, its as if they don't like making money. Since the car was in working condition all I had to do to store the car was have it licensed and insured in my name and store it with a quarter tank or less of gasoline. The only real restriction was that I could not work on the vehicle on the property, but I guess thats still pretty reasonable.

It is usually a ten foot by thirty foot space but I occasionally have even larger available, such as a 10x40 foot. A 10x30 foot space can usually hold approximately an entire 3 bedroom apartment with no trouble. Most of the spaces have 8 foot ceilings or taller and can easily hold about six rooms of furniture. A 10x30 foot space is roughly the size of a one and a half car garage. In terms of travel packaging, a ten by thirty foot unit will hold the contents of a 40 foot van very well.
